Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information you provide when you create an account, use the platform, or contact support. Account identity (name, email) is managed by our authentication provider. When you use our tools, we record limited usage metadata — motion type, jurisdiction, document page counts, file sizes, and processing token counts — to operate the service and enforce plan limits. We do not store the contents of your documents or generated motions.

2. Your Documents Stay With You

  • Redaction happens in your browser. Documents you redact are opened, processed, and permanently redacted on your own computer. The full document file is never uploaded to our servers. Only the minimal material needed for detection (page text, or page images for scanned pages) is transmitted — transiently — to the AI provider for analysis, and is not stored by us.
  • No motion storage. Generated motions are returned to your browser session and are not saved on our servers or in our database. If you choose email delivery, content is processed transiently to send the message.
  • No public access. Your drafts and case details are never indexed by search engines or accessible to anyone else.
  • Citation checking is minimized. When we verify citations, only the citation strings themselves (e.g. case reporter references) are sent to the verification service — never your motion text or case facts.

3. AI Providers & Model Training

Draft Master uses commercial API tiers whose terms prohibit training on customer data:

  • Anthropic (Claude) powers drafting and analysis. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, inputs and outputs are never used to train models, and API logs are automatically deleted on a short retention cycle (currently 7 days) used only for abuse monitoring.
  • Google Gemini (paid API tier) is used solely for detecting sensitive information on scanned document pages. Under the paid-tier terms, Google does not use prompts or responses to improve its products; limited transient logging exists only for abuse detection and legal compliance.
  • CourtListener (Free Law Project), a nonprofit legal archive, receives extracted citation strings only, for verification against its database of published case law.

Neither Draft Master nor its AI providers use your case information to train or improve AI models.

4. Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Account and billing data are held by SOC 2-audited providers (Clerk, Stripe). Usage metadata is stored in an access-controlled managed database. Document metadata scrubbing is applied to redacted outputs.

5. Third-Party Services

We use: Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments — we never see or store card numbers), Anthropic and Google Gemini (AI processing as described above), CourtListener (citation verification), state bar directories (attorney lookup by bar number only, at your request), Google Analytics (site usage, never document content), and standard email delivery for support requests. Purchase events are reported to our affiliate-tracking provider with order amount and the purchaser's email for commission attribution only.

6. Confidentiality

We understand the sensitive nature of legal work. We do not sell your personal data or case details to anyone. Access to operational data by our staff is strictly limited.

7. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings, or by contacting support for assistance.
